Red Cross Opens Santa Paula Evacuation Shelter

The American Red Cross Ventura County Chapter has opened an evacuation center at the Santa Paula Community Center at 530 W. Main Street.

Volunteers are providing refreshments and health services to nearby residents who have been evacuated because of a vacuum truck explosion.

The Red Cross is working closely with government partners to ensure the safety and comfort of the affected residents.

The evacuation center can transition to an overnight shelter if the situation requires extended sheltering.

The Red Cross relies on the generosity of the local community in order to respond to disasters like this one in Santa Paula.
