Isla Vista Home Invasion Robberies Suspects Arrested

Home Invasion Robberies Suspects Arrested

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested four suspects in two home invasion robberies that occurred late October in Isla Vista.

The suspects include 23-year-old Saul Garcia Tirado from King City, 24-year-old Robert Clay Palmer, Julian Ackerman, 24 years old from Coalinga, and 27-year-old Buddy Baker of Fresno.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff Department says that on October 22nd, Tirado, Ackerman and Baker broke into a home in the 700 block of Camino Del Sur. The victims were held at knife point and physically assaulted. The suspects then stole property from inside the apartment.

About 14 hours later, Ackerman and Baker returned to the same apartment, this time accompanied by Palmer. They held the victims again at knife point and stole more items from the residence.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s detectives discovered that one of the suspects was familiar with the apartment. Detectives determined the group had traveled to Isla Vista specifically to target that residence.

Bail was set to $500,000 for each of the suspects.
