Santa Barbara Police Department Opens New Communication Center

The Santa Barbara Police Department has opened a new Combined Communications Center to make sure all emergency services will continue without interruption following a disaster.

The current Santa Barbara Police Station facility may not meet the necessary needs of a 911 center in the event of an earthquake.

The new Combined Communications Center is located near the Santa Barbara Police headquarters.

This $2 million project was built using earmarked funds from the State of California’s 911 Emergency Communications Branch as well as from the Redevelopment Agency.

A ceremony to celebrate the opening of the Combined Communications Center is scheduled for November 13.
