Carpinteria Bus Stop Destroyed by Drowsy Driver
A driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel and destroyed a Carpinteria bus stop at 4 a.m. today.
Sheriff’s officials say the accident occurred on Via Real at Santa Monica Rd.
A cement trash can was also shattered and debris was strewn on the curb and in the street.
The 24-year-old female driver was slightly hurt, but not hospitalized.
No one near the bus stop was injured.
