Arctic Air May Alter Travel

Airline passengers arriving at the Santa Barbara Airport enjoyed the change in temperatures.

Some flew in from Denver and Seattle where arctic air is creating a big chill.

A deep freeze is forecast for much of the upper Midwest.

The weather could cause delays for travelers taking planes.

It has already created dangerous road conditions in some states.

Travel Store agents in Santa Barbara said they are monitoring the situation.

They can change their clients reservations without penalties.

Agents recommend buying travel insurance and signing up for airline apps.

Debbie Weaving said insurance will cover food and lodging. She also said insurance companies have hotlines that will help you book the next flight.

Weaving said the busiest travel time of the year is Thanksgiving.

If the deep freeze continues it could cause holiday delays.
