Neighborhood Clinics Opens New Goleta Dental Office

There will be more smiles in the “Goodland” in the days ahead with the opening of a new Goleta dental facility. It will be run by the non-profit Neighborhood Clinics.

A ribbon cutting took place this morning with doctors, staff, city leaders and the Chamber of Commerce staff present.

Until now, Goleta residents using the Neighborhood Clinics would have to travel to the only dental clinic for that group in the area, on the Milpas St. in Santa Barbara. In some cases it would take three buses.

This clinic has already had a surge of interest. Appointments for the next two weeks are filled up.

The facility has three chairs now, and three more coming January 1.

It was made possible by local donations, federal grants and the local aid group Direct Relief.

It is located on Kinman Ave. in Old Town.

There will be an open house Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Santa Barbara Assistance League is closely tied to this clinic and provides regular educational sessions for patients to help with their dental health.
