Santa Barbara Zoo Giraffe to Give Birth at Any Moment
Two female giraffes are expecting babies from the same father at the Santa Barbara Zoo.
Zookeepers are preparingfor Audrey, a Masai giraffe, to give birth to her third calf at any moment.
According to zookeepers,Audrey has beenresting more, fluctuating in appetite, and moving more slowly, which are all signs that the baby calf is coming soon.
Genetically, her calf will be very valuable because it carries genes that have not been previously represented in the United States.
This will be Audrey’s third calf. Another female giraffe is expecting and her due date is in March.
