Oceano Man Killed In Early-Morning Car Crash

A 21-year-old Oceano man is dead after an early-morning car crash in Nipomo.

According to California Highway Patrol, the accident happened just before 4 a.m. on Los Berros Road near Quailwood Lane.

CHP said the man was speeding in a 2015 Nissan when he crossed the center line, went off the road and hit a tree head-on.

Officials said he was not wearing a seat belt and suspect alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The driver’s identity has not been released.
