Dentists Offer Cash for Candy to Kids

Central Coast Dentists offices are offering cash to kids who turn in their Halloween candy this week.

Johnson Family Dental and Alegre Dental and Braces is holding their 7th annual candy buy-back at their Ventura, Santa Barbara, and Solvang locations.

Starting Monday through Friday, the offices will give kids $2 per pound of candy, for up to 5 pounds for kids 13 and under.

Last year, the buy back brought in 550 pounds of treats, and this year they will be donating the candy locally.

Alegre Family Dental’s Dawn Ferguson said, “The candy goes to The Unity Shop and they take that and distribute it around Christmas time to all the seniors.”

The dentist groups are hoping to double this year’s collection with the addition of Alegre Dental to the program.
