Armand Rios’ Friends, Family Raise Money For Funeral

Friends and family of Armand Rios held an all-day softball tournament fundraiser for the man who died in a fatal car accident last month.

The 31-year-old man was on his way home to Ventura when he died in the accident at Mussel Shoals on Highway 101.

His family has struggled to pay for the funeral expenses, so friends stepped up.

Rios was a member of the Heavy Hitters softball team, so fellow players raised money playing his favorite sport.

“It’s a devastating situation and this community has come together. The softball community is such a close knit community and we’ve come together to help his family because that’s what he would have wanted. He was there for so many of us when we needed it,” said Jessica Graybill, a friend of Rios.

This weekend, the tournament raised around $3,000.
