Water Main Break Floods Santa Barbara Neighborhood
It’s a droughts worst nightmare, a water main break.
Friday morning Santa Barbara resident’s in Northridge Estates woke up to a river of water wasting down the drain.
Public Works received multiple calls about a water main break around 8:15 a.m. on Northridge Road and Foothill Road. The broken pipe buckled the street. Residents say the rushing water flowed for about an hour before crews shut the valves off.
Several home owners grabbed what ever they could: barrels, buckets, even a hose to try and save some of the water. Many dumping it on their lawns and plants.
By 9 a.m., the water was turned off. It’s not know at this time how much water went down the drain or why the pipe broke.
