Pool Cover Rebates Offered up to $300

A $300. rebate has been offered for Santa Barbara residents who buy a pool cover to comply with the Stage Two drought restrictions.

The city says residents can get the cash incentive by following the information from an online form.

“So to help people with that we have a rebate for city water customers. It is only for city water customers not Goleta or Montecito. It is really simple on line. You just fill out the application, purchase the pool cover and we will rebate the cost of it up to $300.,” said Madeline Ward, Acting Santa Barbara Water Conservation Coordinator.

The covers are required in Santa Barbara under the drought rules.

Evaporation during the hot months can be up to 600 gallons a week, according to city statistics.
