Cottage Hospital Plans Ebola Preparedeness Training

Dr. David Fisk said infectious disease specialists will be training Cottage Hospital workers to handle Ebola patients.

Next week, medical professionals will use the buddy system to learn how to put on and take off protective gear.

The hospital has already designated a facility and equipment for Ebola patients.

Fisk said people should not panic.

But if they have traveled to West Africa and are feeling sick with a fever they should call their public health department and let doctors and nurses come to their home and transport them to the hospital to prevent them from infecting others.

Anyone who thinks they may have symptoms should contact public health officers at (805) 681-5280.
