Registered Sex Offender Arrested After Seen Outside SLO School
A registered sex offender is behind bars this morning after he was seen walking in front of an elementary school yesterday, violating his parole.
Police say an alert citizen spotted 35-year-old Robert Menendez at around 8am outside of Sinsheimer Elementary School. The person recognized him from the Megan’s Law website.
Menendez also failed to show up at his parole meeting Monday. Officers went searching for him and arrested him in an apartment off Laurel Lane.
Police say there are no allegations that Menendez committed any criminal violations at or nearby Sinsheimer Elementary School. He was simply observed by an alert citizen.
