Salmon Shark Swims Ashore in Oceano
Beach goers got a lot more excitement this weekend when they found a baby shark washed ashore.
Santa Barbara marine mammal expert Peter Howorth said this is a juvenile salmon shark.
This animal was found Sunday just after 4:30 p.m. at the Oceano Dunes State Beach.
Viewer Lindsey Watters sent in this video of people trying to get the shark back into the water.
But it keeps swimming back; still no word on whether they ever got the shark to stay in the water.
Salmon sharks are related to great whites, but are not known for attacking people.
