They discussed an initiative to ban future high-intesiity petroleum operations.

Supervisors voted 3-2 to adopt resolutions that will help the county handle exemptions and protect the county from lawsuits if voter approve the measure next month.

The measure is pitting people concerned about water contamination against people concerned about energy jobs.
