State Street Named In Top 10 Great Streets

Santa Barbara’s State Street received delegation as one of the 10 Great Streets for 2014 by the American Planning Association (APA) this week.

Every October APA’s Great Places in America program recognizes 30 unique and authentic streets, neighborhoods and public spaces that have evolved from years of thoughtful planning by residents and community leaders.

As a 2014 designee, State Street’s unique Spanish architecture, landscaping, pedestrian amenities, proximity to the Pacific Ocean, and view of the Santa Ynez Mountains all represent its gold standard of cultural and historical character, community involvement, and vision for tomorrow.
