Santa Maria Woman Dies from Hit-and-Run Injuries

A 20-year-old woman died from injuries she received over the weekend in a hit-and-run accident. Beatriz Milan-Absalon, 20, was struck by a vehicle on North Blosser Road early Saturday morning.

Santa Maria police continue to search for the driver who left Milan-Absalon behind with critical injuries. She died on Monday, but that information was not released until Tuesday evening.

Neighbors who live nearby believe speed racing may have been a factor. Speaking anonymously, one resident called for cameras to be installed in order to monitor drivers on the road.

Milan-Absalon was taken to Marian Regional Medical Center on Saturday morning with head and neck injuries. Her family is now discussing organ donations.

Santa Maria police report two prior fatalities from collisions between a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Authorities are asking anyone with information on what happened to call Crime Stoppers at 877-800-9100.
