Triumphest 2014 comes to Santa Maria

If you hear a loud roaring sound in Santa Maria this weekend it’s more than likely coming from the Triumphest Car Show.

Triumph car owners have driven in from all over the country, a tradition that started in Pismo Beach more than 20 years ago, and has grown to a statewide event.

Many people at the car show said it’s a unique show because it’s interactive.

Triumphs are taking tours of the city and even testing their speed.

Around 150 Triumphs are expected through the weekend, enthusiasts started coming to the show on Thursday.

Dave Mure with the Arizona Triumph club said, “When the car shows started 20 years ago, people would show up, and they’d look kind of ready. Now you never find a ready car. Everyone is spending all kinds of time on them. They’re really proud of their cars.”

The cars will be on display for viewing all day Saturday. For more information, log on to http://triumphest2014.com/triumphest2014.com/Welcome.html
