Central Coast New Tech High School to Vote on Phase 3 Expansion

Central Coast New Tech High School (CCNTH) Currently houses ninth through 11 th grade students. The facilities used to house the students were constructed each year, beginning in 2012, to accommodate the addition of a student class of about 100 students each year.

Staff presented several options to complete the build-out of CCNTH so that it can support a full body of up to 500 students.

Alyssa Juarez, a junior at New Tech was in the first wave of students to attend the school.

The phase 2 is almost complete, with two new science classrooms.

Juarez said, “Without the extra classrooms that we’re asking for, we won’t have enough places to put all the students that are going to come in next year..”

Next year the high school will add another ninth grade class, making the school compete with all four high school grade levels.
