Ventura Declares Water Shortage Emergency

The City of Ventura is declaring a water shortage emergency.

The Ventura City Council said they made the move because local water supplies are continuing to drop at an alarming rate.

The stage three water shortage means Ventura water customers are now required to limit outdoor watering to just two days a week and not water between nine in the morning and six in the evening.

The new restrictions are in addition to the previous restrictions that prohibit watering down driveways and sidewalks, washing a car without a shutoff nozzle, and serving water at a restaurant without it being requested.

Violating the water restrictions can result in a $25 to $50 fine.
