Update: Deadline Friday 5 p.m. – Two Ducks Need Names at Ramada Santa Barbara

Two ducklings at the Ramada Santa Barbara (Goleta) Hotel have a new home. What they don’t have are names.

The baby Crested Ducks just arrived to replace two others that are no longer with the hotel after being part of the family.

Drew Wakefield with the Ramada says it is holding a naming contest on its social media sites, and those who pick the winning names will receive an overnight stay at the hotel. One winner can name both ducks, or there could be a winner for naming each duck. It will depend on the entries that come in by the deadline of September 19 at 5 p.m.

Right now the baby ducks are in their own enclosure and will be released in the Ramada lagoon in a few weeks.

“W have opened up the Ramada for anyone to come and see our ducks or see our beautiful gardens and lagoon so they can get a feel for the ducks. Then they can add the names afterwards. So they can come any time they want and view the ducks,” said Wakefield.
