Elephants Use Mud to Keep Cool at the Zoo

Here is one way to keep cool…how about a mud bath! Little Mac and Sujatha both swear by it.

They are the elephants at the Santa Barbara Zoo. A big thanks to the zoo for sending us this video of the pair.

You may not realize, but elephants have sensitive skin. Mud is both a sunscreen and it keeps the bugs away.

So every day they get treated to their own “spa” treatment this way. Both of the elephants are 23 years old.
