Avocado Festival Donation will Help Future Farmers of America

A month before the California Avocado Festival, organizers have donated $3000. to the Future Farmers of America program at Carpinteria High School.

The FFA teaches an array of agricultural programs at the school but there is also a specific tractor repair course, where the funds will be directed.

Old rusty tractors, donated to the school, are refurbished by the students. They are used for parades, and also resold for funds that go back into the program.

Students who take these classes often go on to college to study agriculture or engineering.
