US-101 S Accident Sends Two People to Hospital
California Highway Patrol reported a multiple vehicle accident in Goleta Friday morning sending two people to the hospital.
Around 6:30am, CHP responded to the traffic collision on US-101 south just past Glen Annie Road.
UPDATE: CHP is now reporting the driver of a PT Cruiser was going southbound on US-101 when it drifted into the center divide.
The cruiser then lost control, spun around and was broad sided by an oncoming pickup truck.
The PT Cruiser was struck on the driver’s side and had to be extricated by Santa Barbara Fire.
The PT Cruiser driver was taken to the hospital with major injuries.
The pickup truck driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
The accident slowed southbound traffic to a complete standstill and created traffic issues to surrounding roads.
The collision was cleared by CHP around 7:50 a.m.
