“Sideways” Celebration Marks Films Impact

A hundred cardboard cutouts featuring “Sideways” characters Miles and Jack are being placed in strategic locations around Santa Barbara county.

It’s part of the film’s 10th anniversary celebration.

Santa Barbara Film Commissioner Geoff Alexander said the film has had a global impact.

Tourists continue to visit because of the film. For some wine lovers it put Central Coast wineries on the map.

For the next 10 days, fans of the film can win a Blu-ray and digital HD copies of the movie by having their photographs taken next to the signs and tagging them with #Sideways10 on Twitter or Instagram.
