Gas Station Clerk Punched In The Face During Robbery

Santa Maria Police officers are investigating a robbery Thursday.

Officials said the incident occurred just after 5 a.m. on the 1200 block of East Main Street at the Shell Gas Station in Santa Maria.

Authorities describe the suspects as a Hispanic man approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 300 pounds.

The gas station clerk said that when the suspect walked in, he punched him in the face and waved a sharp object. The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated on scene.

The suspect also demanded that the clerk give him money from the cash register.

The suspect escaped with an undisclosed amount of money in a maroon 2000 model Chevy Colorado truck, wearing a dark colored sweatshirt with a Jordan emblem on the chest. Investigators also said the suspect is wearing blue shorts, and cream colored low tops.
