Editor/Audio Operator – KEYT – PT
The largest broadcast newsgathering operation on the Central Coast is looking for a video editor/audio board operator to join our growing team. This is an entry-level, part-time position and an opportunity to get your foot in the door.
Your mission will be to run audio during live morning newscasts in a fast-paced control room environment. Then you will edit news footage from multiple sources to create compelling, journalistically accurate content under tight deadline pressures to air on station newscasts. Experience with non-linear editing (Final Cut Pro, Avid, Harris Velocity) is required. Knowledge of Sony XD-Cam and Panasonic P2 gear is strongly preferred. Knowledge of audio production boards is highly preferred.
If selected for an interview, you will be given the opportunity to demonstrate your skills in a deadline-driven environment. This position works with all aspects of newsgathering: directors, producers, photographers, photojournalists, directors and anchors. An exceptionally strong work ethic and a commitment to being a team player at all times is essential for success in this role. You must have a valid driver’s license, personal auto insurance and a drug test/background check are mandatory for all new hires.
