Storms Bring Lost Treasures to the Surface at Local Beaches

The pounding waves along our coast have brought some treasures to the surface.

Jose Monclus says he was lucky enough to find some lost valuables with his metal detector.

Yesterday on Santa Barbara’s East Beach, he dug up a Naval aviator ring from 1943. He is actively looking for the owners.

Monclus says he found another ring recently and some markings helped him locate the owner in Ventura County and it was returned.

Frequently rings, coins, keys and sometimes cell phones are found during a search of the beaches after big storms or busy summer weekends.
