Santa Barbara Man Killed In Highway 154 Crash
California Highway Patrol officials released the name of the man whose body was found at a car crash on Highway 154.
Santa Barbara resident Donald Newsam, 82, was driving his 1998 Honda eastbound near the 2900 block San Marcos Pass Road.
For unknown reasons he failed to navigate a curve in the road and veered down a steep embankment late Saturday night.
He collided with a roadway-marking sign and a tree. Fire officials say the crash site was not found until Sunday afternoon.
The car was located 30 feet down an embankment near the top of San Marcos pass.
No one else was hurt in the crash.
