Skateboarders Beware Of Ticketing

Santa Barbara police are cracking down on skateboarders again.

Officers said they could not ignore complaints about skateboarders on busy sidewalks in the downtown corridor.

At least a 100 near misses were reported as well as some collisions with pedestrians and cars.

Police handed out warnings and tickets on Wednesday,

They hope to educate skateboarders to ride in areas where they are welcome instead of busy sidewalks and bicycle lanes.
