13-Year-Old Boy Crashes into Store

Santa Maria Police say a 13-year-old boy took them on a high speed chase in a minivan, before crashing into a store.

The crash happened at the Michaels Arts and Crafts store on South Broadway around 9:30 PM Wednesday.

Police say the boy was driving recklessly in the area, running a red light and almost hitting a bus at a nearby intersection.

He continued into the Michaels parking lot and crashed straight into the store at 50 miles per hour.

The store had just closed, no one was hurt. Police say the Nissan Quest was possibly stolen. The teen was booked into Juvenile Hall.
