Westmont College Staffers Take The Ice Bucket Challenge

Westmont College President Gayle Beebe took part in the ALS ice bucket challenge Tuesday morning. He was called out in Monday’s ice bucket challenge from a former co-workers husband.

Beebe, along with nine other faculty and staff members, took part in the challenge on Kerrwood Lawn on the campus.

The ice bucket challenge group included head men’s basketball coach John Moore, head women’s basketball coach Kirsten Moore, vice presidents Reed Sheard and Doug Jones, provost Mark Sargent, associate dean of students Tim Wilson, physics professor Ken Kihlstrom and Doug Conrad.

On Monday, Santa Barbara resident Jim Mannoia took part in the challenge and it hit home as his wife, Jane Higa, the former Student Affairs vice president at Westmont College, retired last year after 25 years at the school when she was diagnosed with ALS.
