Body Discovered In Camarillo

Yellow caution tape and a forensics tent were set up near a business district in Camarillo after the discovery of a body on Thursday.

A Ventura County sheriff’s deputy made the discovery just before 10:00 am Thursday morning while making routine rounds along the 1300 block of Del Norte, not far from Central Ave.

Public Information Officer Sgt. Denise Sliva said the man appeared injured and unresponsive when the deputy first spotted him. Paramedics were called to the scene. The victim was pronounced dead a short time later.

Sliva tells NewsChannel 3 that no arrests have been made and detectives are not actively searching for a suspect.

Del Norte was closed off to traffic for several hours while forensics experts and a swarm of officers and deputies combed the area for evidence.
