Teen Arrested For Large Quantity of Heroin

Just before 5 p.m. last Friday, two detectives from the Paso Robles Police Special Enforcement team pulled over a vehicle due to a mechanical violation.

During the stop officers determined the 17-year-old male driver did not have a driver’s license. Detectives asked the driver to exit the car, as it had to be towed. Once the driver stepped out of the car, detectives noticed a large object in the driver’s pants pocket.

When asked what it was the driver admitted that it was heroin. After searching his pockets the detectives removed the heroin as well as $648 in cash. Authorities said the man was in possession of an ounce of heroin which has a street value of approximately $2,200.

The juvenile was taken into custody and booked at the Juvenile Services Center and charged with felony possession of narcotics for sale and felony transportation of narcotics.

The drivers name is not being release because he is a minor.

The Paso Robles Police Department encourages anyone with information regarding criminal activity in Paso Robles to contact Crime Stoppers at 805-549-STOP.
