El Cap Showers Shut Off

California State Parks and Recreation Department released the following information:

Due to the severe drought conditions the State is experiencing, showers at El Capitan State Beach will not be available to visitors starting Thursday.

The well that supplies water to the park has been experiencing consistently lower production this year and has reached a point where water production can no longer meet park demand.

The showers will remain unavailable until water production returns to acceptable levels. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask you to conserve water during this drought.

At this time, water services at Refugio State Beach and Gaviota State Park are not being impacted.
