UC Santa Barbara Porn Professor Pleads “No Contest”
An associate professor of Feminist Studies at UC Santa Barbara pleaded “no contest” to three misdemeanor charges against her.
Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley released the information Thursday.
Mireille Miller-Young is charged with Grand Theft Person, Vandalism, and Battery stemming from an incident at an anti-abortion demonstration on campus in March.
Miller-Young was accused of stealing a graphic anti-abortion poster from a protestor and destroying it.
The professor reportedly told investigators she felt “triggered” by the images since she teaches “reproductive rights” and is also pregnant.
Activists for a Christian ministry, Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust, said they wanted the professor to face robbery and assault charges.
Miller-Young’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for Thursday, August 14 at 10:30 a.m. in Dept. 2 of the Santa Barbara Superior Court.
UCSB has not commented on the case, calling it a “personnel matter.”
