Mitchum Opens Congressional Campaign Headquarters

Congressional candidate Chris Mitchum opened his campaign headquarters in Santa Barbara Friday afternoon.

The second son of screen legend Robert Mitchum used giant scissors to cut the red ribbon leading to his new office in a former Ralph Lauren store at the Galleria on the corner of State and La Cumbre.

The Republican said he is prepared to win when he challenges Rep. Lois Capps for the 24th district seat in November.

Mitchum described himself as a businessman and actor who has appeared in 60 films.

Mitchum said, “Every place you look we have problems in this country. We can get back to being who we are, back to our greatness. I have all the hope in the world for this country. I think we can be even greater than we’ve ever been before.”

Plans are in the works to open six offices in San Luis Obispo County, as well as offices in Santa Ynez and Santa Maria.
