Dons Name JT Stone as Interim Head Football Coach

JT Stone will lead the Santa Barbara High School football team after he was named interim head coach by athletic director Joe Chenoweth.

Stone takes over for Doug Caines who was removed as head coach last Friday. JT Stone has only been at Santa Barbara High School for about six months but he has plenty of football experience.

Stone was an All-CIF quarterback at Dos Pueblos High School in the mid-90’s before playing at Santa Barbara City College. After a record-setting career with the Vaqueros, Stone finished up his playing days at West Texas A&M.

Stone has been in coaching for 14 years at the youth and high school level working as a position coach and offensive coordinator. He also worked with at risk youth at the Goleta Boys and Girls Club.

The Dons are currently in their “dead” period before returning to school to begin practice for the upcoming season. Santa Barbara opens up the regular season on August 29 at home against Oxnard.
