Police Seek Information in Two Gang Stabbings

For the first time since a gang injunction trial in Santa Barbara, police are trying to solve two gang-related stabbings.

They both happened last Thursday night, but police don’t know where they happened or who is to blame. Investigators said the victims are uncooperative.

Around 10:49 p.m. a 31-year-old man walked into Cottage hospital with stab wounds to his torso and an extremity. An hour later another man with similar wound asked for help on the 500 block of Ortega Street, on Santa Barbara’s East side.

It is not known whether they stabbed each other or were stabbed by rival gang members. No one is giving information.

But police are hoping someone will come forward with enough information to make an arrest. Anyone with information is urged to contact Sgt. Lorenzo Duarte at 805-897-2339 or email lduarte@sbpd.com. To remain anonymous call 805-897-2386.
