Another Smuggling Boat Beached At San Simeon
San Luis Obispo County sheriff’s deputies discovered an empty smuggling boat at San Simeon State Beach about 2:50 a.m. Wednesday.
The boat is about 30 – 35 feet long with three outboard motors mounted to it. Deputies did not find any drugs or people in the area.
SLO County officials found a similar smuggling boat abandoned on a different San Simeon beach on June 26. No one was caught in that case either, but authorities did find three wetsuits and a hidden compartment in the boat that may have been used to smuggle people, drugs or both.
