Man Rescued From Near Drowning
A 27-year-old man is hospitalized after a near drowning at Goleta beach.
It happened about 4 p.m. Tuesday near the mouth of the slough.
Witnesses said the man may have been drunk when he headed into the water and started to go under. Lifeguards and a Good Samaritan were able to pull him to shore.
It is not known if the man is a local or a tourist and his name was not released. Santa Barbara County Fire Department and AMR responded to help the lifeguards.
