Vines Into Water 5k Race Helps Bring Clean Water To Developing Countries

Runners up and down the coast gathered in los Olivos for the 1st annual “Vines into Water” event. The 5k race, MC’d by Shirin Rajaee, was held at the beautiful Saarloos and Sons El Camino Real vineyard. Participants had the chance to walk or run through the vines and then enjoy a day of wine sampling and BBQing under the sun.

It was all for a good cause. Proceeds went to “Cause Life”- a non profit organization that helps provide clean drinking water to developing countries. Nearly 1 billion people in the world lack access to clean water which has attributed to over 2 million unsafe drinking water deaths every year, most of which are children.

For every $15 raised, one person will receive clean water for 20 years. In its first year, the event raised 15,000 dollars which means three new wells can be achieved in developing countries.
