Ringing in 2014 in Santa Barbara

Whether you’re an adult or even a child, there are different options in Santa Barbara to help celebrate the New Year.

For adults, the options vary from celebrating New Year’s Eve Mad Men-style at El Encanto Hotel ($65) to taking a trip back into the Great Gatsby era at the Bacara resort ($150).

The Sandbar is also having a party deemed an “Affair to Remember” for $40.

But 2014 fun doesn’t just pertain to adults: there’s a place for kids to ring in the New Year.

The Santa Barbara Zoo is having a unique sleepover for kids ages 5 to 12.

“The zoo really offers kids the opportunity to have their own party on New Year’s Eve,” says Zoo Director of Education Aaron Marshall. “Kid’s come out, hang out with the animals, hang out with some friends, and have a great time playing.”

Remember also don’t drink and drive.

AAA offers Tipsy Tow Services to all drivers on New Year’s Eve from 6 p.m. – 6 a.m.

Just tell the operator, “I need a Tipsy Tow,” and a truck will be on its way. It’s free if your home is up to 10 miles away.

Tipsy Tow can be found by calling: 1-800-AAA-HELP or 1-800-222-4357.
