Former Santa Ynez High School Teacher Dies In Crash

A former Santa Ynez Valley high school teacher has been identified as a victim in Thursday’s three-car crash near Chumash Casino.

Authorities have identified the victim as 68-year-old Linda Wall of Buellton. According to the California Highway Patrol, Wall died from her injuries Thursday night at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara.

Former students tell Central Coast News she was a Spanish teacher at Santa Ynez Valley Union High School and recently retired.

The crash happened Thursday afternoon, when a Jeep Wrangler slammed into Wall’s car that was slowing for a red light. The impact caused Wall’s Toyota Highlander to crash into another car.

The driver of the jeep, 27-year-old Rebecca Sandoval of Lompoc, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. If convicted, Sandoval could face murder charges.
