Daphne’s Restaurant in Ventura Closes

Daphne’s California Greek caf in Ventura will close its doors after lunch on Friday.

The restaurant is in Montalvo Square off Victoria

A spokeswoman for the chain says the Ventura location is closing because it reached the end of its lease and it chose not to renew it at that location.

At least half the employees at the restaurant have accepted job offers at other Daphne’s restaurants in Ventura County.

Loyal customers are sad to see the restaurant go. “They have good healthy food and that’s hard to find these days, and its sad to see them leave,” said Daphne’s customer Peter Dufeu. “I’m sad. My mom is the mail lady and I like to meet her for lunch here sometimes and it’s always good. It’s fast. It kind of sucks they are not going to be here anymore,” said Daphne’s customer Shannon Moeller-Spaulding.

Daphne’s has three other Ventura County locations that are staying open. They include Camarillo, Newbury Park and Simi Valley.
