Popcorn Comes Right Off the Cob at Farmers Market

An old fashioned hand cranked machine has customers creating their own popcorn kernels at the Santa Barbara Farmers Market.

It’s a vintage experience that many people have never experienced.

The site in row number one near Cota St. on Saturday mornings has only been set up this month.

Corn cobs with golden kernels are placed in the grinder and with a few cranks, enough popcorn comes out to make a big snack.

The kernels still need to be popped in a pan of hot oil at home to make the fresh popcorn..
