Los Padres National Forest Campfire Ban Lifted

Los Padres National Forest campers will be glad to know campfires are allowed again.

A ban put in place in May prohibited charcoal and wooden campfires, along with target shooting, using combustible equipment and driving off-highway vehicles.

Those restrictions are lifted with some limitations; campfires outside of designated camping area will need permits.

So will driving off-highway vehicles and using combustible equipment.

Fireworks are still prohibited.

The ranger stations want forest visitors to always be careful in the woods, no matter the fire danger level.
