Semi-Truck Driver Avoids Head-On Crash

Just after 2:00 p.m. emergency crews were on scene of a two car crash in the Buellton area Wednesday.

Officials said sheriff deputies tried to stop a wrong way driver on the northbound side Highway 101 and Santa Rosa Road.

The driver continued on the wrong side of the road and somehow crashed with a semi-truck.

During the investigation, California Highway Patrol diverted all northbound traffic off at Santa Rosa Road.

Santa Barbara County Fire Department said one person suffered moderate injuries and another person had minor injuries.

Fire officials said the big-rig driver veered off the road in time to avoid a head-on collision.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the CHP.
