Holiday Parade has Paradise Theme

About 35,000 people stood out in the cold tonight to see the 61st annual Downtown Holiday Parade in Santa Barbara.

The Downtown Organization chose the theme Holidays in Paradise.

Dozens of marching bands performed, including Dos Pueblos, San Marcos and Santa Barbara high schools.

Actor Michael Imperioli from “The Sopranos” and Spike Lee’s “Old Boy” served as Grand Marshall. His wife Victoria, who owns the Metropolitan Boutique on State Street, said she put him up to it. The family moved to the area two years ago from New York City.

It took more than two hours to see the entire parade go by.
